With a total production of 2.5 million tonnes per year, both as semi-finished and rolled products, ALFA ACCIAI is one of the largest production sites in Italy and one of the leaders in the production of reinforcing steel and wire rods in Europe. It has two of the most efficient electric furnaces in the world, two bar mills, a wire rod mill and a cold working department.

The only steel mill on the island, ACCIAIERIE DI SICILIA has a production capacity of approximately 500,000 tonnes/year of reinforcing bars in bars and coils, obtained by electrofusion of ferrous scrap of Sicilian origin. The company is the natural reference for the southern Italian and island markets and also has a prominent position in the European steel industry. In particular, the Environmental Product Declaration, achieved with the new environmentally sustainable B450C S steel, is the first European case.

A leader among wire drawing mills in Europe, with over 20 years’ experience, Tecnofil produces numerous types of bands and wire with low-medium carbon content. Applications are many, from construction to industry, from agriculture to animal husbandry, to hardware and housewares, small metal goods, fencing and packaging. Production includes multi-wire strips, bright wire, baked, skinpassed, galvanised and zinc-aluminium wire. TECNOFIL offers a full range of solutions tailored to the customer’s needs, also thanks to a total production capacity of 90,000 tonnes of wire per year, distributed over 30,000 square metres devoted to wire processing, with both dry and wet drawing plants and two dip galvanising plants. 

FERROBERICA is a European leader in the pre-shaping, installation and assembly of reinforcing bars, as well as in the study and design of works and initial site planning. In 2006, FERROBERICA opened a new pre-shaping plant in Catania, in which it uses steel bars and coils produced by its affiliate ACCIAIERIE DI SICILIA.
